This is a practical production case for solid silicone rubber compression molded products, for your process reference and trial run setup.
Mold Specifications
Total mold thickness: 30 mm, 15 mm for each single side.
Finished product thickness: 7 mm.
Material Weight Parameters
Solid silicone feeding weight: 42 g.
Final finished product net weight: 38 g.
The extra 4g of material serves as flash (overflow trim), which will be trimmed off after curing.
Vulcanizing Machine Parameter Settings
Upper and lower heating plate temperature: 210 ℃
Compression cycle times: 5 cycles
Clamping or molding holding time: 150 seconds
Critical Production Reminder
Uniform mixing is the most important step during silicone milling. Uneven compounding will lead to inconsistent hardness, color difference or poor physical performance of finished silicone parts. Fully knead the solid silicone to guarantee even dispersion of pigment and curing agent before molding.
You can refer to this set of parameters when testing similar thick silicone products. Fine-tune temperature, time or feeding weight according to your actual silicone formula and mold structure during sample trial.
